The Greatest Spotify Playlists
I've been a user of the popular music streaming app Spotify for years and I've became increasingly picky about what playlists I listen to. Nothing seems to be quite right. I find myself hitting skip several times in frustration before ditching the playlist in search for something else.
However, over time I have taken note of the playlists that apply to my different moods and the sound/genres I'm itching to discover. I've kept track of what has remained consistently satisfying throughout passages of time. Good is out there. The seeds just need to be dug out of the earth and placed in a pot to grow roots. Water it and give it enough sunlight and you'll find something will come out of it. As infuriating as it is, if you pay enough attention to what's on the app, eventually something will capture your eye.
I've hunted down what I believe to be the best of the best to share with everyone. Perhaps it can benefit someone else who is having a hard time finding the right music. I'm saving you time by dishing out all sorts of music spread out across the colourful plates. From relaxing tunes to indie vibes, sad songs, uplifting melodies and hardcore punk rock; it's all here. All of it.
1. Your Coffee Break ⇢ Chill & relaxing vibes
Fantastic for when you have a little time to unwind. The sounds are soft and flowing and quite captivating. It's also proved to me to be great for when I'm tired and want to relax or prepare for a nap. Nothing is overdone or plays on irritation, it's calming and can also work great for background music.
It really is perfect to listen to while you drink a cup of coffee and daydream amidst a busy day.

I've returned time and time again and it hasn't gotten old which is surprising since I quickly grow bored of repetitively listening to the same things.
It has plenty of songs to shuffle and even with skipping there's more to come.
2. Tokyo Rising ⇢ Something new

If you want to find something outside of your usual taste, then this is perfect for you. This playlist is entirely unique and varies and touches upon all sorts of sounds from indie-like influences to more rock and alternative styles. Or, if you're already a fan of J-pop then this may help you discover more bands of that category.
It makes me happy and it keeps me hooked for what will greet my ears next. Some lofi hip hop? Some alternative rock? Who knows?

It's fascinating to say the least. It's a roller-coaster that you don't want to get off.
3. Peaceful Piano ⇢ Sad & touching
Link to playlist
It's tragic and beautiful. Haunting and enticing gliding sounds of the piano for focusing or when you're attempting to lull yourself to sleep at night to enter into a more comforting mindset. Without words it still manages to tell a story. Talented musicians show off their expertise with long and short pieces and some are even improv.
This is ideal for classical music lovers.

Very enchanting however, for me I couldn't listen to it regularly. I much prefer to play it when I'm stressed and want to focus on the chilling vibes of the instrument.
4. Alternative 90's ⇢ Casual Hang-out feel
Link to playlist
Grunge, grunge grunge. Consists of beloved 90's bands like Nirvana, Radiohead, Manic Street Preachers, Pearl Jam and many more. Simply enjoy the music or have a party, it's up to you. It takes you through popular hits while also introducing you to a few songs you haven't heard or were coated in dust. It's revival of the 90s style of deep voices and funky instrumentals and beats.
Recommended for rock fans.

With 80 songs this can keep you going for hours but some tunes might be a little too slow if you're hoping for constant loudness.
5. 00's Rock Anthems ⇢ Rock out
Link to playlist
A great era for Rock music. This portrays the best songs that came out during those times and blew audiences away. All of which still continues to be legendary. From Linkin Park to Alien Ant Farm to Good Charlotte; brilliant rock from start to finish.
My forte of music lies in this playlist simply because it's that good.

Deserves 5 stars however, a huge downside to this for me is that it feels too short. I can soar through 50 songs with ease and with no songs generated as you play, it leaves you disappointed that there's not more to come once it's over. The time spent during it makes you rock hard but the ending is a little bittersweet.
Good if you're only wanting a small dosage.
6. Broken Heart ⇢ For Damaged Souls
Link to playlist
When you're sad, lonely or just want to be alone with your mind with your headphones on...this is ideal for you. Especially if you have a guilty pleasure for some pop songs.
Artist's explore heartbreak, emptiness and fighting back in this playlist designed to add to your already emotional state. Want to feel sorry for yourself? Well this is even better for meeting your requirements.
Personal Rating: ✭✭✭✫✰ (3.5/5 STARS)
The main reason I've rated it this is simply due to some of the cheesiness. As a rock fan who likes some indie and pop punk on the side, this can lie a bit 50/50 with me if I'm not in the right mood for it. It has lots of my guilty pleasure songs and some songs I genuinely love but when James Blunt comes on singing 'Goodbye my lover' I remember the thousands of times I've heard it and seen him stand out in the cold. Although, a great playlist when I'm feeling down.
Great for pop fans.
7. Songs to Sing in the Car ⇢ Good times
Link to playlist
This playlist is fitting for fans of all sorts of genres out there and that's what makes it good. It prevents you from being bored because on shuffle you don't know what track will come on next.
From Spice Girls to Red Hot Chili Peppers to La Roux to Evanescence... there's a lot to make you jam out or cool down.
I'm quite impressed by this playlist since it really does keep me guessing and gives me exactly what I want.
Personal Rating: ✭✭✭✭✭
I feel like I need to give it five stars since some of the songs found on it are ones that never get old and I can constantly come back to or listen on repeat even throughout my pickiness.
8. Ultimate Party Classics ⇢ Hit the clubs
Link to playlist
The songs that immediately make everyone sing, dance or raise their hands and jump in the air. Music that pleases crowds.
The kind of beats that makes me think, "hell yeah," and my head snaps up to see everyone else's equally pumped reactions.
Big hits from big names like Queen, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson plus more. There's a bit of rock, a bit of jazz/rhythm and blues, hip-hop and the expected pop and dance.
79 songs to keep the party going.

It's really all you need to feel alive (at least for a little while...)
✭ Honourable Mention ⇢ Ghost Vibes by In Love With a Ghost
Due to copyright I won't include the playlist cover this time since the artwork was created by a user called vacuum_chan as credited in the playlist description.
This user (In Love With a Ghost) also has a YouTube channel of the same name and creates their own funky lo-fi tunes so if you're interested go check it out.
This playlist is great because they've included stuff they enjoy and each song sounds so unique on another level. It's chill, upbeat, some seem techno influenced while others are just plain cool. There's not many ways to describe it, it's just great.
Personal Rating: ✭✭✭✭✰
You have to be willing to be a little adventurous when you listen to this because it sure takes you on a journey. Stay open minded and you'll be glad you took the time to press play.
Best listened on shuffle for a wild experience.
So that's it. The Greatest Spotify Playlists (so far and of course, in my opinion).
I tried my best to include some music that can reach out to different kinds of demographics but there's only so much of that I can do since it all comes down to personal taste.
A lot of searching was involved in the process of writing this and a lot of consideration over details and how I should rate things. But this is it. I'm done. Phew. I can breathe again.
There are many playlists out there that just don't do it for me. They are too short or include too many songs that I don't like or the vibe just doesn't work. I'm picky. But I managed to pick these as my favourites. The ones that actually work.
